Safety is a great asset. As a security specialist, you know all about this. To ensure that the safety of you and your colleagues is monitored during the performance of a shift, we built Hourly Notifications in Secusoft. As an employer, you ask your employee to give a so called 'sign of life` every half hour or hour, by means of an email, text message, WhatsApp message or push notification. If this request is not responded to in time, an emergency protocol will come into effect.

If the Hourly Notifications function is enabled, a notification will be sent to the employee every hour or half hour. This is done by e-mail and optionally also via SMS, WhatsApp and/or push notification. The message requests that you click on the link to confirm the hourly notification. If the employee does not respond to the hourly notification, a voice call is automatically started, calling the employee's (service) telephone number.

If there is no answer, the system will call the manager's emergency telephone number. This is all done automatically and a computer voice then announces the following:
`The employee [employee name] is working at [object name] and has not responded to the hourly notification.`
This way, people are quickly aware of the fact that the employee is not alert, and further action can be taken immediately if necessary.

How do you activate the hourly notification in Secusoft?

To activate the hourly notification feature, you must purchase a Twilio phone number. Twilio is a provider of telephone services where you take out a subscription for a small amount per month (less than € 10). The hourly notifications can now be sent via SMS or WhatsApp, and voice calls can be made. Why is an hourly notification important for security guards?

Safety professionals ensure that things run safely and in an orderly manner. They take a certain risk in this. It is possible that they end up in unwanted or dangerous situations during their shift. It is important that someone is informed quickly, but employees are not always able to do this themselves. Especially at night or when an employee is out alone, it is advisable to use a control system such as a half-hourly or hourly notification. This provides additional control and allows an
alarm to be raised quickly if an employee does not respond.
